Organized Retail Crime Investigations

We detect your stolen product the moment it surfaces online, then trace it back to the people behind it.

Organized retail crime is not shoplifting. It is organized, often transnational theft that resells stolen product through online marketplaces. We detect your stolen merchandise the moment it surfaces online, then trace it back to the people behind it: the fences, the warehouses, and the leadership. We can also work it from the theft forward.

Organized retail crime is a supply chain, not a shoplifter

👤

Boosters

Steal to order, often in coordinated crews hitting multiple stores.

💰

Fences

Buy the haul for cash and consolidate it for resale.

🏷

Cleaners

Strip tags and repackage so product looks legitimate.

🚚

Transport & storage

Move and warehouse goods between the theft and the sale.

🛒

Storefronts

Resell to your own customers online at prices you cannot match.

We investigate it from both ends

🔍

From the listing back

The moment your stolen product surfaces for resale, we work backward through the storefront, the linked accounts, where goods are stored and shipped, and every hand the product passed through.

📦

From the theft forward

Give us a theft, a crew, or a location and we trace the merchandise forward through the fencing pipeline to where it is sold and who is profiting.

Boosters, fences, transporters, financiers, and shell storefronts, charted into one picture built to stand up in court and hand off to law enforcement.

Organized retail crime cases are solved by following the goods

STEP 01

Detect

We see your stolen merchandise the moment it is listed for resale online.

STEP 02

Trace

We follow it back through each layer: storefronts, fences, transport, and money.

STEP 03

Document

Every link is tied to the next, so what comes back is a mapped network with evidence, not a tip.

STEP 04

Hand off

A package built to support prosecution and hand cleanly to law enforcement.

Licensed investigators, not a dashboard

Most of this field works in one direction. We work both, and we connect them in the middle, delivered by a licensed Florida private investigator with a record of federal-agency collaboration. That is the difference between a list of suspect listings and a prosecutable case.

Frequently asked questions

How are organized retail crime cases solved?
They are solved by following the merchandise, not chasing a single thief. We start at the point of resale and work back through every layer of the operation, documenting each link, so what comes back is a mapped network with the evidence behind it, built to support a prosecutable case and to hand off to law enforcement.
What is organized retail crime?
Organized retail crime, or ORC, is large-scale theft of retail merchandise for resale, run by coordinated groups rather than lone shoplifters. Crews steal to order, fences buy and consolidate, and goods are resold for profit, increasingly through online marketplaces. It is a supply chain, and it is often transnational.
How is organized retail crime different from shoplifting?
Shoplifting is usually one person taking goods for personal use. Organized retail crime is a business: a network of boosters, fences, cleaners, transporters, and storefronts that turns stolen product back into cash at scale. Removing one booster does nothing to the organization. You have to identify and document the whole network.
Can products stolen and resold online be traced back to the seller?
Yes. When stolen merchandise is listed for resale online, that listing is a starting point. We work backward through the storefront, the linked accounts, and the logistics to identify the people running it and the network behind them.
Who hires E3 Legacy Intel for organized retail crime investigations?
Retailers, brands, loss-prevention and asset-protection teams, and their counsel, when they need more than removed listings: named operators, a mapped network, and an evidence package that supports prosecution and law-enforcement referral.

Map the entire ORC network

A boosting crew is never one person. Using lawfully-sourced geolocation intelligence and criminal network mapping, we start at the scene of a hit and reconstruct the entire ring, the devices present, where they traveled, the staging sites and fences they use, and the people behind them. It turns a string of isolated thefts into a mapped network with named participants, the picture prosecutors and loss-prevention teams need to dismantle it.
